Code execution via unchecked PAR pointer
Published Apr 22, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Untrusted pointer dereference in Solid Edge SE2020 and SE2021 allows remote attackers to execute code via malicious PAR files. The PAR parser dereferences a user-supplied value without validating it as a safe pointer, corrupting process memory. Exploitation requires a victim to open a crafted PAR file, after which arbitrary code runs in the current process context and the application can crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
