CVE-2020-26989

Code execution via fixed-length stack buffer copy

Published Jan 12, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Stack-based buffer overflow in affected Siemens JT2Go, Solid Edge, and Teamcenter Visualization releases allows remote attackers to execute code. The PAR-file parser fails to validate a user-controlled length before copying data into a fixed-length stack buffer, allowing the copy to exceed that buffer. Exploitation requires the target to visit malicious content or open a malicious PAR file, and resulting code runs in the current process context.
