CVE-2020-26981Network attack vector

Arbitrary file disclosure via PLMXML external entities

Published Jan 12, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

XML external entity injection in Siemens JT2Go and Teamcenter Visualization before 13.1.0 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files. The PLMXML parser accepts an external DTD entity URI, dereferences it, and embeds the retrieved file contents into the document for further processing. Exploitation requires the target to open a malicious PLMXML file or visit a malicious page, and disclosure is limited to files readable by the current process.
