Guest-to-hypervisor information disclosure via out-of-bounds read
Published Jan 15, 2020 · Updated Sep 30, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in VirtualBox Core 5.2 before 5.2.36, 6.0 before 6.0.16, and 6.1 before 6.1.2 allows local users to read sensitive data. The shader_glsl_texldd function fails to validate user-supplied data before reading it, permitting access past the end of an allocated object. Exploitation requires low-privileged code execution in a guest; the flaw discloses hypervisor-accessible data and requires another vulnerability for hypervisor code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
