Local unauthorized data modification
Published Jan 15, 2020 · Updated Sep 30, 2024
An access control vulnerability in Oracle VM VirtualBox before 5.2.36, 6.0.16, or 6.1.2 allows local users to alter data. Oracle has not published the specific Core code locus or untrusted operation behind CVE-2020-2678. A low-privileged account logged on to the host is required; successful exploitation can create, delete, or modify VirtualBox-accessible data and read a subset of that data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
