XML external entity expansion in PinaeOS py-xml 1.0 allows attackers to interrupt applications via a crafted XML file. The parse path accepts untrusted DTD entity declarations without validation or sanitization, permitting recursive expansion that consumes CPU or memory. Exploitation requires a caller to parse attacker-controlled XML; the upstream report and NVD impact metrics establish denial of service, not code execution.
