CVE-2020-26294Network attack vector

Server configuration disclosure via template env functions

Published Jan 4, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Information disclosure in Target, Inc. Vela Compiler before 0.6.1 allows remote attackers to read server configuration via pipeline templates. The native template renderer exposed Sprig env and expandenv functions, allowing a crafted template to print Vela server environment variables such as OAuth and worker secrets. Exploitation requires access to submit a template that the Vela server renders; the documented consequence is confidential configuration disclosure without reported integrity or availability impact.
