CVE-2020-26195Network attack vector

Service degradation via erroneous SMB directory creation

Published Feb 9, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Improper privilege handling in Dell PowerScale OneFS 8.1.2 through 9.1.0 allows remote attackers to slow the system over SMB. The SMB directory auto-create path mishandles insufficient permissions and erroneously creates a user's directory. An unauthenticated SMB request can trigger directory-creation behavior that degrades availability, but Dell has not disclosed deeper implementation details.
