Deserialization of untrusted data in Oracle Java SE 7u241, 8u231, 11.0.5, and 13.0.1 allows remote attackers to take over the runtime. Oracle identifies the Serialization component but has not disclosed the affected class, method, or incorrect operation performed on attacker-controlled data. Exploitation requires a deployment that loads untrusted code under the Java sandbox or passes attacker-supplied data to Serialization APIs, such as through a web service.
