CVE-2020-2586Network attack vector

Unauthorized HR data access via Hierarchy Diagrammers

Published Jan 15, 2020 · Updated Sep 30, 2024

Authentication bypass in Oracle Human Resources in Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1.1 through 12.1.3 and 12.2.3 through 12.2.9 allows remote authenticated users to access and modify HR data via HTTPS. The affected Hierarchy Diagrammers component performs an undocumented authorization operation that permits unauthorized creation, deletion, or modification of records and disclosure of accessible Human Resources data. The attacker requires low-level privileges and no user interaction; Oracle has not publicly disclosed the exact code-level mechanism, and successful exploitation can also cause partial service interruption.
