CVE-2020-2583Network attack vector

Service interruption via undisclosed serialization flaw

Published Jan 15, 2020 · Updated Sep 30, 2024

A Serialization flaw in Oracle Java SE 7u241, 8u231, 11.0.5, and 13.0.1 allows remote attackers to interrupt service over a network. Oracle has not disclosed the affected serialization API or the exceptional condition it handles incorrectly. Exploitation requires high-complexity input reaching Serialization APIs, such as through a web service, or untrusted code running in a Java sandbox, and causes only a partial availability loss.
