Service interruption via unchecked DNS compression pointer

Out-of-bounds read in HCC Embedded NicheStack before 4.3 allows remote attackers to interrupt service via a crafted DNS response. The dnc_copy_in DNS name parser follows a compression pointer without verifying that it remains within the packet, permitting an out-of-bounds read. Exploitation requires the DNSv4 client to process the malicious response and can fault the embedded device or stop its communications until it is power-cycled.
