Denial of service in Oracle MySQL Client 5.6.46 and earlier, 5.7.28 and earlier, and 8.0.18 and earlier allows remote attackers to crash clients. Oracle identifies the affected locus as the C API but has not published the malformed input, function, or incorrect operation that triggers the failure. Exploitation requires an unauthenticated network path over the MySQL protocol and high-complexity conditions, and the bounded consequence is a client hang or repeatable crash.
