Unauthenticated client hang or repeatable crash
Published Jan 15, 2020 · Updated Sep 30, 2024
Denial of service in Oracle MySQL Client 5.7.28 and earlier and 8.0.18 and earlier allows remote attackers to hang or crash the client. Oracle identifies the C API and MySQL Protocol but has not published the malformed input or incorrect operation that triggers the failure. No authentication or user interaction is required, but exploitation has high complexity and affects only client availability.
