Published Jul 15, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Local privilege escalation in Acronis True Image 2021 and earlier on macOS allows local users with admin access to gain root privileges. The vendor identifies insecure folder permissions as the cause but does not disclose the affected path or the operation that converts writable access into root execution.
