Unauthenticated local administrator creation via automation task
Published Aug 11, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Authentication bypass in SapphireIMS 5.0 allows remote attackers to create local administrator accounts on managed clients. The RemoteMgmtTaskSave automation endpoint accepts a crafted user-creation task without validating a JSESSIONID or otherwise authenticating the request. Network access to the SapphireIMS web application is sufficient, and successful exploitation grants local administrative control on a selected client.
