Unauthenticated command execution via diagnostic request injection
Published Aug 11, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
OS command injection in SapphireIMS 5.0 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands on the server through diagnostic requests. The unauthenticated CmdProcess endpoint passes the hostorip value used by Ping, Traceroute, or SNMP processing to an operating-system command without neutralizing shell metacharacters. No session is required; a crafted hostorip value reaches RunCmd.jsp, and the resulting command output can be retrieved through PortletClass.
