Stored script execution via unsanitized DisplayName
Published Sep 16, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in 6Kare Emakin 5.0.341.0 allows remote attackers to execute script in another user's browser. The /rpc/membership/setProfile endpoint stores the DisplayName field without neutralizing active content before the Activity Stream renders it. A victim must view the affected Activity Stream entry, where the injected script can read or modify browser-accessible data in that user's session.
