Privilege escalation via unescaped profile names
Published Jan 7, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in Liferay CMS Portal 7.1.3 and 7.2.1 allows remote authenticated users to run script through profile names. The Calendar view passes a stored calendar-resource name derived from profile fields into page output without HTML escaping. A profile holder must save the payload, and an administrator must open the affected calendar; execution then operates with the administrator's portal session.
