Administrator-browser script execution via stored menu payload
Published Oct 28, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in menuedit.php in Mara CMS 7.5 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in an administrator's browser. The Edit Menu feature stores attacker-supplied menu content and later renders it in the Admin Panel without HTML entity encoding. Exploitation requires panel access and a later visit to the saved menu; the script then executes within that visitor's browser origin.
