Authenticated command execution via unrestricted less pager
Published Feb 2, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Restricted-shell escape in UCOPIA Wi-Fi appliances 6.0.5 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as the admin user. The showDhcpLeases CLI action launches less without disabling its shell-command feature, so !rbash followed by sh escapes the restricted interface. Access to the administrative CLI is required, and successful exploitation grants an unrestricted admin-user shell inside the appliance chroot.
