Authenticated file deletion via attachment path traversal
Published Sep 27, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Path traversal in Wuzhi CMS 4.0.1 and 4.1.0 allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary server files via a crafted URL. The attachment backend's coreframe/app/attachment/admin/index.php del() method joins an unchecked relative path to ATTACHMENT_ROOT and passes it to my_unlink. Backend login is required; filesystem permissions bound the reachable files, and deletion causes data loss or service interruption.
