Reflected XSS via unvalidated Template.aspx Referrer parameter
Published Jan 7, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Reflected XSS in Cute Editor for ASP.NET 6.4 allows remote attackers to execute script in a victim's browser through a crafted URL. Template.aspx reflects the Referrer parameter into its HTML response without properly validating or neutralizing attacker-controlled markup. A victim must click the URL; execution occurs in the hosting site's security context and can expose cookie-based authentication credentials.
