Stored script execution via unsanitized Display Name
Published Jan 29, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored XSS in Hitachi Vantara Pentaho 7.x through 8.x allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript via the Display Name parameter. The Analysis Report stores the Display Name value without adequate output neutralization, so rendered reports execute attacker-supplied script in a viewer's browser. An authenticated user must submit the crafted value and another user must view the affected report; the bounded impact is script-mediated data access or actions in that browser session.
