SQL injection via unescaped clicked-statistics column
Published Feb 19, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
SQL injection in Mailtrain 1.24.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to alter database queries through a crafted column parameter. The statsClickedSubscribersByColumn function inserts the column value into the clicked-statistics query as a raw identifier rather than an escaped placeholder. Direct access requires a valid session; a cross-site request can instead abuse a logged-in user's session, with impact ranging from timing-based disclosure or service interruption to arbitrary file reads or code execution when the database account is overprivileged.
