CVE-2020-24511

Local information disclosure via incomplete EIBRS mitigation

Published Jun 9, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Improper shared-resource isolation in some Intel Processors allows local users to disclose sensitive memory through speculative execution. A microcode misconfiguration leaves Enhanced Indirect Branch Restricted Speculation protections incomplete across guest and host boundaries. A low-privileged user must execute code locally and overcome high attack complexity; successful exploitation exposes data, including kernel memory.
