Reflected XSS via unescaped type parameter
Published Apr 7, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Reflected XSS in Wcms 0.3.2 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary script in a victim's browser via a crafted type parameter. The wex/cssjs.php handler inserts the type query value directly into an HTML type attribute without output encoding or validation. Exploitation requires a victim to follow an attacker-crafted URL, after which the injected script runs in the Wcms origin and can read or alter browser-visible data.
