Browser script execution via stored announcement payload
Published Jun 23, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in Catfish CMS 4.9.90 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary script in visitors' browsers. The announcement plugin stores the announcement_gonggao value and renders it on the index page without neutralizing attacker-supplied HTML or script. Execution requires a visitor to open that page, confining the direct effect to code running in the visitor's browser under the site's origin.
