Administrator file deletion via unrestricted backup path
Published May 21, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Path traversal in HTMLy 2.7.5 allows remote authenticated users with Administrator privileges to delete arbitrary server files. The backup deletion handler in system/admin/views/backup-start.html.php passes the file GET parameter directly to unlink() without restricting it to a backup directory. An Administrator session and access to the backup page are required; deletion is limited to files permitted by the web-server process.
