Stored script execution via decoded bbsmeta output
Published Nov 2, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored XSS in xujinliang Zibbs 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in visitors' browsers through bbsmeta. AdminController stores the setting after escaping it, but the foreground index view passes the stored value through htmlspecialchars_decode before inserting it into HTML. Administrative access to background settings is required to plant the payload, which runs in each visitor's browser when the foreground page is opened.
