Code execution via spoofed image Content-Type
Published Nov 8, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in /admin/upload.php in BEESCMS 4.0 allows context-dependent attackers to execute code via a crafted image file. The upload handler checks file size and the client-controlled Content-Type but does not restrict executable filename extensions, so image/jpg permits a PHP file to be stored and requested. Exploitation requires an administrator's authenticated upload interaction and results in execution of the uploaded PHP code on the server.
