Unauthorized account modification via userId tampering
Published Jan 26, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Incorrect access control in newbee-mall all versions allows remote attackers to modify any user's profile through the update endpoint. The /personal/updateInfo handler passes a caller-controlled userId to updateUserInfo, which selects that account record and writes the submitted profile data. No authentication or ownership check binds the identifier to the requester, so any reachable account record can be changed.
