Cross-account username changes via unchecked account ID
Published May 9, 2023 · Updated Jan 29, 2025
Incorrect authorization in YerShop all versions allows remote authenticated users to alter another account's username via a crafted profile request. The profile-edit endpoint accepts an attacker-controlled id value and updates the referenced user's record without checking that it belongs to the session. Any ordinary account can rename another user and block login under the original username; the published proof does not demonstrate administrative privileges.
