Private activity launch via unchecked intent parameters
Published Apr 5, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Intent redirection in Sina Weibo Android SDK 4.2.7 allows attackers to start an application's unexported Android activities. WbShareTransActivity is exported and accepts arbitrary intent parameters, using attacker-controlled activity names to start components in the embedding app. A crafted intent must reach an app that embeds the SDK and exports this activity; successful exploitation bypasses manifest access controls for private activities.
