Administrator deletion via unprotected GET request
Published Jan 19, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in Anchor CMS 0.12.7 allows remote attackers to delete administrator accounts through a crafted web request. The administrative user-deletion endpoint accepts a state-changing GET request without a CSRF token or origin check, so a crafted image request executes with the victim's session. Exploitation requires an authenticated administrator to load attacker-controlled content, after which the chosen user account is deleted.
