CVE-2020-23160Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Root command execution via crafted ping parameter

Published Jan 22, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Command injection in the cfg.cgi handler in Pyrescom Termod4 before 10.04k allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as root. The function 160 handler appends the untrusted ping parameter to a shell command, allowing a semicolon to introduce an additional command. Valid web-interface credentials and network access are required; successful exploitation grants root-level command execution on the time-management device.
