Administrator account takeover via forged profile update
Published May 5, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in Chamilo LMS 1.11.10 allows remote attackers to take over administrator accounts via crafted requests. The edit_user function accepts a forged profile-update request in an administrator's authenticated browser and applies attacker-chosen identity, credential, and role fields without verifying intent. An administrator must be logged in and induced to submit the request; exploitation can replace administrator credentials or promote another account to administrator.
