Intranet port discovery via SMTP connection testing
Published Jul 12, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
SSRF in Halo 1.3.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to map intranet services through the SMTP connection tester. The hidden testConnection interface passes supplied SMTP host and port values to Spring JavaMailSender and exposes port state through response timing. The endpoint must be reachable; successful probes reveal listening services but do not directly read their contents or alter them.
