Authenticated file disclosure via extpath traversal
Published Aug 18, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Path traversal in webTareas 2.0 allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary server files through a crafted extpath parameter. general_serv.php accepts a POST request whose extpath value contains ../ sequences and uses the attacker-controlled path to return a file outside the intended directory. A valid webTareas session is required, and the demonstrated consequence is confidentiality loss from arbitrary file disclosure.
