Credential disclosure via interceptable password authentication
Published Oct 22, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Credential exposure in MEDIA NAVI Inc SMACom 1.2 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to read passwords over shared Wi-Fi networks. The Wi-Fi photo-transfer module exposes the password authentication parameter and subsequent password-bearing requests to an on-path observer. The attacker must share or intercept the network path between the paired smartphone and PC; the published impact is limited to credential disclosure.
