Database compromise via unescaped activation token
Published Nov 3, 2022 · Updated May 5, 2025
SQL injection in MKCMS 6.2 allows remote attackers to read or alter database data through the verify query parameter in active.php. The active.php handler strips escaping from the GET value and interpolates it inside a quoted u_question predicate passed directly to mysql_query. No authentication or user interaction is required; demonstrated time-based and UNION queries expose database confidentiality and integrity.
