SQL injection bypass via comment-obfuscated variable assignments

SQL injection detection bypass in OWASP ModSecurity Core Rule Set 3.2.0 allows remote attackers to evade PL1 via crafted requests. The PL1 rules fail to recognize MySQL user-variable assignments when comments and whitespace fragment the SQL tokens, so the payload passes inspection. Exploitation requires a backend parameter that is already SQL injectable; the flaw removes CRS filtering rather than creating the application's injection sink.
