Unauthenticated file disclosure via unchecked help paths
Published Jul 27, 2023 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Path traversal in Jinfornet JReport 15.6 allows remote attackers to read sensitive files through the unauthenticated help endpoint. The jet.server.servlets.SendFileServlet authentication branch permits paths beginning with /help/, then reads the supplied path without canonicalization or traversal checks. No account or user interaction is required, and readable files are limited to those accessible to the JReport service account.
