Unauthorized task creation via unvalidated Android intents
Published Feb 22, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Improper permissions in Tasks.org before 9.7.3 allow local users to add arbitrary tasks through an installed application. VoiceCommandActivity accepts externally supplied AUTO_SEND intents and uses their text to create tasks without validating the caller or requiring permission. Exploitation requires another application on the same Android device and can silently modify the victim's task list; no broader impact is established.
