CVE-2020-22429Public exploit

Rejected use-after-free claim in reverse lookup

Published May 3, 2023 · Updated Jan 30, 2025

The CVE record for a claimed use-after-free in Redox OS 0.1.0 gethostbyaddr has been withdrawn and is no longer valid. The original report attributed the flaw to unsafe heap-pointer lifetime handling in src/header/netdb/mod.rs during reverse host lookup, but no valid CVE claim remains. Earlier local low-privilege impact and product-applicability claims should therefore be treated as superseded.
