Script execution via unescaped page titles
Published Aug 6, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Subrion CMS 4.2.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in a user's browser. The page-creation workflow accepts an attacker-controlled title, and admin/templates/default/blocks.tpl renders the title without escaping. Access to the content-management panel is required; opening the Blocks interface executes the payload in that user's site context.
