Authenticated webshell upload via unrestricted file handling
Published Jul 18, 2023 · Updated Oct 28, 2024
Arbitrary file upload in Evertz 3080IPX, 7801FC, and 7890IXG firmware allows remote authenticated users to write files over HTTP. The IEEE-UP001 upload handler fails to restrict attacker-controlled file types and destinations, enabling webshell placement or critical-file overwrite. Valid web-interface credentials are required; executable uploads grant persistent command execution, while overwrites can corrupt device operation.
