CVE-2020-22061Public exploit

Local device overwrite via unrestricted driver IOCTL

Published Dec 28, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Arbitrary device write in SUPERAntiSpyware 8.0.0.1050 allows local users to overwrite device data through IOCTL 0x9C402140. The saskutil64.sys SaskCallDriver handler accepts a user-supplied device name, offset, length, and buffer, then issues an IRP_MJ_WRITE without restricting the target device. Any local user can open the driver device; crafted requests can overwrite disk sectors or other device data, and invalid targets can crash Windows.
