Unauthenticated system access via hardcoded credentials
Published Apr 29, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Hard-coded credentials in Inim Electronics Smartliving SmartLAN/G/SI 6.x and earlier allow remote attackers to gain system access via network login. The Linux distribution image embeds credentials for Telnet, SSH, and FTP that are hidden from users and cannot be changed through normal device operations. Any attacker able to reach those services can authenticate with the defaults and obtain administrative system access, with configuration and service impact bounded by exposed network access.
