Authenticated job configuration disclosure via unchecked endpoint
Published Jun 3, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Missing authorization in Jenkins Project Inheritance Plugin 19.08.02 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read job configuration XML. The /job/…/getConfigAsXML endpoint returns Inheritance Project configuration after checking only Job/Read, without requiring Job/ExtendedRead. A user with Job/Read can obtain SCM and build-step configuration that Jenkins restricts to more privileged accounts through its standard config.xml interface.
